As we near the end of our long course season, we would like to recognize those swimmers who will be representing the Dallas Mustangs at national level competitions in the next couple of weeks. The USA Futures Championships will take place this weekend at the Westside facility in Lewisville, TX. Rebecca Brandt, Parker Benn, Robby King, Peter Paulus, Felix Van Cauwelaert and Henry Wang will be competing against swimmers from sixteen states. Next week, Felix Van Cauwelaert will travel to New York to participate in the USA Junior National Championships. Juniors is one of the highest and most competitive competitions in which our swimmers can compete. We wish all of these swimmers the best of luck as they take advantage of these incredible opportunities.
We also want to send out our support to those swimmers swimming in the Medal Madness meet at Rockwall this weekend and remind everyone that our annual break will be August 11 - September 4, with normal practices resuming on September 5 at all locations.
The American Long Course Championships wrapped up the end of the season for many of our senior swimmers. The meet, hosted at the Westside pool in Lewisville, brought together teams from as far away as Colorado, Missouri and Kentucky. Our three top point scorers during the meet were Parker Benn, Zoe Evangelist and Henry Wang. The following Mustang swimmers competed (those who scored team points in bold):

The Texas Age Group Championships (TAGS) also took place this past weekend and was held at the UT pool in Austin. The best 14 and under swimmers gathered for the top meet for their age groups in Texas. TAGS has traditionally been one of the fastest state meets in the country, so for swimmers to even qualify to participate in the meet is quite a feat. DM's top three point scorers were Mary Grace Martin, Carson Brockette and Roman Duong. This summer's Mustang TAGS team members were (scorers in bold):

Congratulations to all of our Mustangs who have represented our program well in their championship meets and best of luck to those who will be competing during the next two weeks!
