Congratulations to senior Easop Lee. She was awarded The Alec Cosgarea Award during Team Day 2017!
The award was established in 2013 to honor the memory of Alec Cosgarea who died in an auto accident July 9, 2012. The award is given to the rising senior in the High-Performance Group who closely demonstrates the qualities which are inscribed upon the plaque - an indomitable spirit and an indelible character. In addition to the remission of the season’s dues, NBAC makes a $500.00 contribution to the scholarship at McDonogh School in Alec’s memory.
Past winners include Will Cosgarea and Ian Silverman (2013), Cole Buese (2014), William Cadigan (2015), and Sierra Schmidt (2016).
In addition to Lee, Bernadette Ramoy was selected as the 2017 recipient of The Louis Lowenthal Award.
This award was established in 2013 to honor the memory of Louis Lowenthal who passed away October 31, 2012. The award is presented to a swimmer moving from the Imagination level to the Challenge level who closely demonstrates the qualities of Louis himself - a strong desire to improve in the pool, healthy habits and intellectual curiosity outside the pool. As is inscribed on the plaque, Live Life Like Louis. In addition to the remission of the season’s dues, NBAC makes a $500.00 contribution to Action for Healthy Kids in Louis’ memory.
