Paseo BRW Black & White Meet

Hello Families

First, I wish to thank each and every family that contributed to the success of the Paseo Aquatics BRW Black & White Meet. The outpour of willing volunteers shows me that this team is loved by many. I am truly humbled and great full. We did and amazing job! After the meet was over I spoke with the Head Official and the Meet Processor to get their feedback on how Paseo Aquatics did at hosting the meet. Their response was "we are ready to host meets".

This is a logical step for the Club and is something that is being highly considered as we move forward. For all the meet operational volunteers (check in, announcing, awards, timing coordinator, deck marshals, snack bar, runners, heat winner awards..) your jobs were so paramount to the overall success. I watched this closely, I checked in often with everyone multiple times and the consensus was "we got this". That we did!

I want to thank Rijker Hutson(athlete Senior ll) for building our amazing first-eight place podium. I hope you all got to see this and I hope all kids had a chance to climb on it for a great photo shoot with our USA Swimming/Paseo banner behind it. It sure made for a great photo!

I want to thank the Gilmore family for waking up at the wee hours of the morning to make 80 breakfast burritos to donate and support the cantina. They were a hit!

The meet was a success for the Club. We raised close to $2750.00. 100 percent of the funds go directly into supporting and securing the future of Paseo Aquatics.

I want to thank the coaches for making the meet great for their athletes. Coaches are there day in and day out committed to their success at each and every turn (literally). Coaches, I thank you again for being such great mentors to these kids- for your love, your spirit and you endless dedication to Paseo Aquatics.

In closing, I want to thank each an every family. Some of you just jumped in on meet day and supported in areas needed and did and amazing job. All families truly supported our cantina! It was so much fun seeing all the parents in their Paseo gear making this moment a great memory for their kids and Paseo athletes. Now come on, the meet was 90% done and the scores were separated by a mere 9 points. It was thrilling and exciting! The winning team came all the way down to the very last relays! It was so much fun seeing all the families on the bleachers and all the athletes cheering and screaming for everyone! It's what we do here at Paseo Aquatics. It also exemplifies the vital importance of relays.
