Four YOTA Student-Athletes named USA Swimming Scholastic All-Americans
Since 2000, USA Swimming has awarded the top student-athletes in the country the designation of Scholastic All-American. These student-athletes are able to show a great balance by getting their work done in the pool and in the classroom; they must have a minimum 3.5 GPA, completed the 10th, 11th or 12th grade and have achieved a USA Swimming Winter Junior National qualifying time or a Para Can-AM Meet Qualifying Standard (MQS).
North Carolina led the way with 82 student-athletes awarded Scholastic All-American. Congratulations to the following YOTA swimmers and alums for earning this distinction:
Hannah Aspden – Senior at Leesville High
Sam Medlin – Freshman at the University of Houston
Lauren Soleo – Senior at Panther Creek High School
Zach Speedschneider – Junior at Leesville High School
We look forward to many more YOTA Swimmers earning their spot onto this list in the future!
