Swashbuckling Good Times at Treasure Island

Our Barracudas were well-represented at this season’s BAC Treasure Island meet at Berkeley Aquatics in New Providence on Saturday. It was all hands on deck as our attending 30 swimmers earned top places, Career Best Times, Silver and Gold times, and more as they joined 8 other teams for a day of great competition.

Congratulations go out to Jake Riva (100 Back, 100 Free) and Michael Rizzo (500 Free) for taking Firsts! Other top-3 places were earned by Peyton Berg (3rd in 100 Fly and 200 Breast); Salome Calderon (2nd in 100 Breast); Ethan Cross (3rd in 500 Free); Jordan Maruska (3rd in 100 Breast, 100 Free, and 500 free); and Laura Topolski (3rd 100 Breast, 200 Free).

New Team Records were set by Marcus Innamorato (10&Under 100 Back), Nathaniel Kern (10&Under 100 Fly), Chris Gutierrez (100 IM), and Peyton Berg (11-12 200 Back, 200 Breast, 100 Fly). There were 29 other Career Best Times swum, with some really big drops by Peyton Alviani (-7.37 in 100 Breast); Peyton Berg (-9.99 in 100 Fly); Kayla Bhagaloo (-12.67 in 200 Free); Salome Calderon (-11.80 in 100 Back); Ethan Cross (-7.07 in 500 Free); Marcus Innamorato (-10.18 in 100 Free, -6.68 in 100 IM); Nathaniel Kern (-12.13 in 100 Back, -20.87 in 100 Free); Syd Mills (-10.49 in 200 IM); and Will Vetter (-5.57 in 100 Back, -6.55 in 100 Breast).

Gold Times were swum by Jake Riva (100 Back, 100 Free) and Jordan Maruska (100 Breast, 100 Free, 500 Free), earning their ticket into Senior Championships and JOs, respectively. There were also 24 Silver cuts achieved.
