2017 SWAC Fall in the Pool Meet Recap!

2017 SWAC Fall in The Pool Meet Recap

Swimmers of the Meet

Exploration I-Leah Risley
Leah has been working extremely hard in practice and isn't afraid to participate in races that make her a little nervous. She loves a challenge and has been great addition to Exploration I. Keep up the hard work Leah, we can't wait to see what the rest of the reason looks like.

Exploration II-Kaelyn Godfrey
Kaelyn recently joined Exploration II and has worked extremely hard to learn several new skills and, at the meet, she put all of those skills to work. Kaelyn wasn't afraid to push herself by competing in several challenging events and she did so without complaint.  Kaelyn you have been working so hard and it's fun to see your hard work paying off in the pool. Great work!

Green-Ali Risley

Green group swimmer of the meet is Ali Risley. Ali has been working so hard this season and has really made huge improvements in the pool. She has been working on new events like the 500 free and has worked really hard to swim her best race. Ali also dropped a total of 55 seconds in her events. Way to go, Ali! Keep up the AMAZING work!

Yellow-Lauren Harris

Lauren is such a hard worker and is very good at making changes to her strokes when asked by a coach.  She comes to practice with a smile on her face everyday.  She did her first pre-lim/final meet at SWAC as an eleven year old and did amazing.  She dropped over 75 seconds and had 100% lifetime best times. I see great things for Lauren in the future.  Congrats, Lauren!

Red-Just Offutt

Justin is a newer swimmer and this was his first prelims-finals meet.  He went in to the meet with all NT (no times) and qualified for finals in 5 of his 6 events!  Justin is a very hard worker, can swim every event, and challenges himself to become a better swimmer.  He has a bright future ahead of him and I can’t wait to see what he is able to accomplish this short course season!  Congratulations, Justin!

Blue-Drew Weiland

Drew showed great improvement over the last several weeks.  He has improved his practice attendance and work ethic in our practices which has carried over to the swim meets.  His hard work has really paid off and I can't wait to see his continued progress as we continue through the season.  Great work Drew.

Senior-Mackenzie Butz

Mac is consistently one of Senior Group’s hardest working athletes.  She has nearly perfect attendance and always has a positive attitude and great work ethic.  Despite all of this, she has sometimes struggled to find success, especially in her Breaststroke events.  At the SWAC Meet, Mac had a huge breakthrough dropping 5 seconds in her 200 Breaststroke and 2 seconds in her 100 (already surpassing her season goal for the event in the process).  Congrats, Mac-keep up the great work!

NFG-Cameron Luarde

Cam swam 8 events over the weekend, notched lifetime bests in 6 of them, and finished no lower than 3rd place in any event.  His times of 59.98 in the 100 Breaststroke and 2:08.93 in the 200 Breaststroke both lowered the SWAC team records, and his 200 time is now only 1.5 seconds off from the Indiana state record.  Keep it up, Cam!
