The Bronze and Silver groups each had another great meet at the Altitude Thanksgiving Meet. The biggest challenge at this meet was that both sessions were running simultaneously. I thought that everyone did well with the way the meet was set up and paying attention to the meet order. I am very proud of the Bronze group because they finished with 80% best times for the meet. That is incredible! All four Bronze swimmers had a great meet, challenged themselves with new events and pushed themselves to go faster. Cooper had the largest time drop for Bronze at this meet. He took off 12.76 seconds in his 50 Breaststroke. Silver was challenged to do more 100s at this meet. Almost every swimmer did at least two 100s. Both Atticus Wei and Gavin Wroblewski each had a fantastic meet. They each raced hard from start to finish but they also took off a lot of time. Atticus dropped 45.16 seconds and Gavin dropped 42.87 seconds. Way to go! Caderyn Windmueller had a very exciting 50 Breaststroke race. He is now under one minute and dropped 11.65 seconds to do it. Again, this was another wonderful meet where we learned more about racing, ourselves, different pools, and how to continue to get better.
The Altitude Thanksgiving Meet was a great success for the Junior and Gold swimmers! These two groups achieved almost 60% best times! Both Jin White (100 Breast, 200 Free, 50 Back, 50 Fly, & 50 Free) and Nick DePeppe (100 IM, 50 Fly, & 50 Free) went ALL best times in their events! Kytelyn Pieper went four best times (200 Free, 200 IM, 50 Breast, & 50 Fly). Kytelyn also had the most impressive time drop of the meet, shaving off 22 seconds in her 200 Free! Improving in three races were Kaitlyn Manuel (100 Breast, 100 Free, & 50 Fly), Jack Schoonover (100 Breast, 100 IM, & 50 Free), Katie Sena (200 IM, 50 Back, & 50 Fly), Haley Gates (100 IM, 50 Back, & 50 Breast), and Abigail Wroblewski (100 Back, 100 Free, & 50 Free). Elam Estella (50 Fly) and Zoe Harris (100 Breast) each swam one personal best. We even had more Silver State cuts! Jack Schoonover qualified in the 100 IM and 50 Free! Awesome job, swimmers!
For the Seniors, Madelyn Braham led the way with all best times! Michael Mehall got best times in three out of five swims and Evan Braham and Maggie Froehnhoefer also swim best times. Congratulations swimmers!
