Inclement Weather Policy
The Barracuda Swim Club coaches will endeavor to provide practices as scheduled. However, at times weather will not permit us to hold practice. At those times, we will do our best to notify our members of any changes and/or cancellations.
Johnson City Site
Whenever possible, practice changes and cancellations will be noted on the Barracuda Swim Club website in the "News" section on the right-hand side of our home page. In addition, an email will be sent to members' accounts. In the event that the website cannot be updated due to timing or lack of internet access, a tweet will be sent from the Twitter account CoachChris57. Parents/swimmers should elect to follow CoachChris57 in order to receive those tweets.
General policy concerning practices and school
In instances when the Johnson City School District cancels classes or delays the start of school prior to 5:00 AM, any scheduled morning practices will be cancelled. If such an announcement is given after 5:00 AM and morning practice has already begun, then it will continue until the normally-scheduled end of practice time.
An announcement concerning afternoon practices will be sent out once the coaching staff has consulted with the JC Parks Department and Freedom Hall Pool staff.
In no instance are swimmers or parents expected to risk their personal safety to attend practice.
In the case of inclement weather. An email will be sent to the team regarding practice.
If the KAC is closed, we will be unable to have practice. The KAC will update their phone message and Facebook page.
Any swimmers attending an AM practice will need to check their phones upon waking up for a group text from Coach Sam.
If practice is cancelled the night before, there will not be an AM practice the following day. I want to err on the side of caution with your young children driving in inclement conditions.
