What other adjectives are there to describe the quality of swimming and the excitment we see from this crew in Winnipeg? Every adjective possible has been used already!
Last night was simply one of the best Day-3 finals session we've seen at any away meet. The swimmers are still healthy to race, they are still excited to support their team through their cheering, and mainly they are still an inspiration to each other through their swimming!
Last night Michael Schaan made history when he erased a piece of the club's history; Michael took down a 20 year old club record from Tyson Ingram in the 13-14 boys 200 fly. He was also one of the three boys to successfully complete the hard triple; 200 FY, 200 BK and 200 IM in the same evening. Reid Glatz and Nathan Wong were the other two. 8 medals were won from those 3 boys in the triple-2.
More medals and fast finals were streamed live on Facebook from the younger swimmers in the lower age group, many SAP times and Champs times were celebrated. Fantastic swims also came out of the relay events, the 12&under girls and 14-15 boys accpeted medals on the podium.
We stayed in touch with the crew in Cochrane and it seems like it doesn't matter where you travel to - if you are wearing a NCSA cap, you are bound to swim fast and maybe make history on your own. Congratulations to Hailey Martin for being the newest club record setter, Hailey put her name on the record board for her 12min 49 sec performance in the 10&under girl 800 FR. The girl power in NCSA is picking up pace!
One more day everyone! G O C R E E K ! ! !
