NOVA Victorious in Two Meets in December

It is turning out to be a big December for the Novaquatics, as our team claims two Championship victories nationally and regionally.

The first of the big wins comes from our Senior Swimmers who have been putting together a championship team over the past several years which accumulated into a championship victory at the recent 2017 Winter Junior Nationals-West;  a meet that brings together the top 18-under swimmers from the Western half of the United States.

Armed with a small army of 41 swimmers, the Novaquatic’s Junior National Group traveled to Iowa City and the campus of the University of Iowa to compete in this year’s SPEEDO Winter Junior National Championships West.  With several swimmers scoring in the finals heats and an impressive performance from our relay teams placing many of our A & B Relays in the top eight scoring places, the Novaquatics captured the team title with 608.5 points, over 122 points ahead of the second place team.

“We are extremely pleased with our swimmer’s performance this past weekend”, commented associate Head Coach Adam Crossen, “We have been talking about this for several years and its good to see our swimmers come together to fulfill our goals.”

To break it down even further, our men’s team was the top scoring men’s team in the meet, while our Women’s team placed third over all.
