|TAC Weekly Letter(sorry)|
I thought I had sent this letter out on Tuesday, I don't know what happened but it did not go out. My appologies. Especially to The Houtby family. So without further delay here the weekly letter. Some of the things no longer apply.
Quote for the week:
"Many people deny themselves the pleasure of living life to the fullest because they follow limited visions. They dream modest dreams, so they compile modest achievements. The limiting factor is not their capacity to achieve, but their willingness to believe in themselves."
~Taken from Nido R. Quebin?s book Change your words, change your world.
Thank you to all the parents that came on Saturday to help out. The meet went very smoothly and the kids had lots of fun. It was a great, fast, short meet that continues to help our swimmers grow and develop. I hope you can join us for our team trip February 10th to Friday Harbor. We are still working on locking down the time for the meet.
As we continue through January I hope the spirit of the new year is still with you and if you have goals this year keep at it. Lets keep trying to be a little better each day.
Attached is the team gear order form if you would like to purchase.
Saturday Practice 27th
There is practice for the Senior and Junior swimmers this Saturday. We do have a swim meet this weekend but most of our older swimmers will not be attending so we have practice. Advance Gold if you aren?t going to the swim meet, come to practice.
There is no practice on Saturday for our Gold, Silver and Bronze swimmers. You guys should be at a swim meet.
The entries are in and we are waiting on the timeline. There is 38 swimmers signed up for the meet and I am looking forward to seeing how our kids do. I hope to see some strong swims.
I will keep my eyes out for the timeline, in general swimmers will be.
Saturday AM: all 10 and unders, boys 11-12
Saturday PM: 11-12 girls, all 13 and overs
Sunday AM: 11-12 boys and all 13 and overs
Sunday PM: 11-12 girls and all 10 and unders
The masters meet is coming up, like past years it will be held on Sunday the 4th. It runs from 9am to about 1pm. If you would like to see much older swimmers race and compete than this is for you. You are also welcome to sign up and become a masters swimmer and join us for the weekend.
The team will be walking on to the ferry and traveling Friday Harbor, it is a super easy meet to attend and lots of fun. I would encourage all parents to drop their kids off at the ferry and we will probably get them there and back. We haven?t lost anyone yet. Of course parents are also welcome to attend and we usually have the adults help us herd the young swimmers along.
No NWAC Valentine Meet or February Divisionals
So we had two meets on the calendar that we are not going to be attending.
The NWAC Valentine meet was scheduled for the 10th and 11th. After they failed their levy I assumed that meet would be canceled and scheduled a swim meet with Friday Habor on the 10th. Anacortes is also hosting boys districts that weekend as well. I apologized to NWAC but TAC will not be attending that meet. If you really want to attend let me know and we can have you swim without a coach.
We will not be attending February Divisionals, because I am upset with PNS. This is kind of true I am not happy with PNS because of where they sent us. We are given a survey on where we would like to attend divisionals. I selected Snohomish and Mukilteo both are about an hour away. PNS assigned up to Bremerton, which is about 3 hours away. I requested they reassign us to Snohomish or Mukilteo but they said we could go to Kirkland. Not great still a bit far but it is being held at the Juanita Aquatic Center. We attending AGI there in November. After that swim meet it is my opinion that TAC will not attend any meets held at the Juanita Aquatic Center. The air quality is terrible and I will not expose our swimmers to that kind of health risk.
So our next sanctioned swim meet after the Bellingham meet will be the March TAC-E meet. Sorry for the rant but I felt the need to explain a few things.

The purpose of this packet and the nutrition trainings are to share information on:
? Common misconceptions about nutrition and eating healthy
