|TAC Weekly Letter|
This is getting frustrating. It seems the weekly letter did not go out. I am sorry about that. Not sure what is happening. For the Friday Harbor meet see below for important information.
Quote for the week:
"Winners make a habit of manufacturing their own positive expectations in advance of an event."
Thank you to all the volunteers that came out and helped with the masters meet on Sunday. The meet was a lot of fun and TACM had 28 masters competing in the meet. TACM took 1st overall. Thank you to all the young TAC swimmers that came to cheer on their parents.
This week Fidalgo Pool will be hosting Boys Districts. The Anacortes Boys are hoping to take first place and it looks like Liberty will be giving them a tough fight. While that is going on I hope you can join us in Friday Harbor where we will do our own swim meet.
No practice on Friday, pool is hosting boys districts come by and support our team.
No Practice Saturday, team is going to Friday Harbor and high school districts is going on.
The team will be walking on, please try and arrive at the ferry no later than 9:15. We will be getting on the ferry together. Parents are welcome to join us, but are also encouraged to just drop their swimmers off. Cal and I will be coaching at the meet and we will have several of the high school girls swimmers helping out as well. So we will probably get them all back to Anacortes.
The Spring Showdown will be held at the Federal Way swimming pool. This meet is for swimmers who have not made Regionals or Senior Sectionals. I have attached the meet information. If you are interested in this meet sign up online. We will need at least 12 swimmers to sign up for the meet.
It is a prelim and finals meet for 11 and over swimmers.
10 and under boys swim on Saturday
10 and under girls swim on Sunday
See meet information for more.
No NWAC Valentine Meet or February Divisionals
So we had two meets on the calendar that we are not going to be attending.
The NWAC Valentine meet was scheduled for the 10th and 11th. After they failed their levy I assumed that meet would be canceled and scheduled a swim meet with Friday Habor on the 10th. Anacortes is also hosting boys districts that weekend as well. I apologized to NWAC but TAC will not be attending that meet. If you really want to attend let me know and we can have you swim without a coach.
We will not be attending February Divisionals, because I am upset with PNS. This is kind of true I am not happy with PNS because of where they sent us. We are given a survey on where we would like to attend divisionals. I selected Snohomish and Mukilteo both are about an hour away. PNS assigned up to Bremerton, which is about 3 hours away. I requested they reassign us to Snohomish or Mukilteo but they said we could go to Kirkland. Not great still a bit far but it is being held at the Juanita Aquatic Center. We attending AGI there in November. After that swim meet it is my opinion that TAC will not attend any meets held at the Juanita Aquatic Center. The air quality is terrible and I will not expose our swimmers to that kind of health risk.
So our next sanctioned swim meet after the Bellingham meet will be the March TAC-E meet. Sorry for the rant but I felt the need to explain a few things.
