We need your help Montana Swimming families! A Seahwak family is in need of your support. Taylor, Lexi, and Julius Crick swim with the Billings YMCA Seahawks. After a "routine" hip replacement surgery in August 2017, their dad Gary Crick was diagnosed with grade 3 chondrosarcoma. As a result of this diagnosis and after many trips to see specialists in Minnesota and Salt Lake City, a very difficult decision of 'Life over Limb' had to be made by the Crick family. In order to save Gary's life, he went to the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City to undergo a forever life and body changing surgery on February 7, 2018. During this surgery Gary had his left pelvis and entire left leg amputated. So this very active husband and father of six children (Taylor, Lexie, Lynsie, Julius, Elija, and Samuel) has a very long road to recovery ahead of him.
The Billings YMCA Seahawks are having a fundraising raffle to assist with Gary's medical costs. Tickets are $5.00 each or 5 for $20. Tickets are available from any BY Seahawk swimming family or contact BY head coach Kristen Wyatt by e-mail or by phone at 406-794-9090 or 406-294-1616.
