At the Parent Meeting the following was part of the discussion:
Discussed Mars dinner outcome – participation low. Swim A Thon had a nice turnout and efforts by all. Raised about $8,000. Bowling afterwards was a hit by those attending. Script fundraising going good, $450 to date, need to get more families involved. Several ideas were discussed regarding how to use scripts to raise money. Feb 26th Papa Murphy’s in Delavan, club receives 20% of sales for the day. May 4 Night at the Races, need a committee. Discussed how to get the kids involved by selling horse names ahead of the event. Kids that sell most tickets will earn prizes. Also discussed a Bags Toss tournament for those that do not want to gamble. The State meet t-shirt was also discussed and the shirt design presented.
Need committee for Night at the races:
- Kids to sell horse names
- Wine pull
- Bags Toss Tournament
- Silent Auction Collection
Shared with everyone the tentative Spring/Summer meet schedule and hotel info for the Fishers meet in Indiana. This lead to a discussion about having our own unsanctioned home meet. The Board will need to take up the idea and discuss with coaches. It was generally agreed to be a great idea and a money maker for the club.
Bob shared with everyone that John Hotvedt, our past club President had resigned at the beginning of the year. Kelly Smith had expressed interest in joining the Board. The parents in attendance then nominated and voted Kelly S on the Board per the club Bylaws. Mat O’Brien stepped down from the Board as Treasurer for the past six years. The new Board of Directors effective immediately is now made up of Lynda Pinnow as President, Amy Ceshker as Vice-President, Bob Anderson as Treasurer and Kelly Smith as Secretary.
Next Board Meeting scheduled for March 13
Meet reservations for Long Course are due to Frank and Judy by March 6. IF you need a form, please see coaches, or e-mail them for a copy.
