Pelton Commits to Cal

Will Pelton in Cal gearBig news for our own Will Pelton. The high school senior has verbally committed to swim for the University of California, Berkeley. The announcement came this week.

Will told SwimSwam that he is beyond excited to continue his career with the Golden Bears, saying he couldn't have done it without some help, “a special thank you to my family, close friends, and coaches for helping me get to this point in my career.”

Will is one of four sibling Division 1 swimmers, and he isn’t the first to commit to Cal. His sister Elizabeth swam for Cal and was an NCAA champion. She graduated in 2017.

Currently, Pelton is a senior at Loyola Blakefield High School, where he is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and a NISCA All-American. He recently won the 100 free (46.40) and placed fourth in the 100 back (51.80) at the 2018 National Catholic H.S. Championship.

This weekend, he will compete in the 200 Free, 100 Fly, 50 Free, 100 Back, 200 Back and the 100 Free at the Maryland LSC Senior Championships!
