Another Great Weekend for SRVA

Coach Rich:

The Senior Group was spread over two meets this last weekend.  They swam swam very well at the Elllis Meet and at The Clovis Senior Championships.

Brandon Shi, Christopher Guidi, Dillon Smith and Casey Wahashige swam very well at Ellis with all best times for three of them and all but one for the other.

Logan Wong, Justin Nguyen, Anne Marie Hancock, Helen Senchev, Derek Halas, Dylan Dalal, Sam Lee, Clifford Yao, Lillian Cano, Ryan Ly and Monica Beltran had all best times at Clovis.

Other highlights at Clovis include:

Caitlin Tan finishing 3rd in the 100 Fly, fourth in the 50 Free and dropping 3 seconds in the 200 Free finishing fourth.

Jon Tan making the Top 8 in both 200 IM and 400 IM.

Chaitha Dasari qualifying for Sectionals in the 100 Fly.

Derek Halas dropping 14 seconds in the 1000, 11 seconds in the 500 and 39 seconds in the 1650

Coach Paschalis:

This past weekend in Ellis meet in Tracy we had a couple of great performances from both groups. Definitely from Group 3, I could say it was Daniel Jung as all of his races were very consistent and very exciting to race and watch as well.

From Group 2, was Kennedy Powers for her 100y freestyle with the time of 1:26.66.

It was a nice meet and the pool temperature was great for that cold weather.

See you all in the next meet

Coach Audra:

Despite it being a little cold this weekend the sun came out and shined on all my swimmers. Majority of my swimmers had best times and I think all had fun. We want to remember to be mindful at practice and mindless when it comes to racing. Alexis Law achieved numerous A times. Sina Mirzai took off 7seconds in his 100 free. He didn’t think it was possible to drop that much time but just dove in and raced. Jamie and Jacob swam the 100 IM for the first time and did exceptionally well. Overall the swimmers had a great meet. Let’s continue to work hard practice and remember why we are there.

Coach Andy:

SR Development

The SR Development Group had a very good 1st weekend of a 2 weekend meet combo, this weekend they swim at the Pleasanton SR Open Meet.  They did a great job of being ready and staying warm and fueled to swim fast all day.

Lisa Zhao had a very good Sunday with a new Far Western time in the 13 -14 200 Breast, along with new SR 2 times in the 200 and 50 free.

Max Marley was 6 of 8 swims as Life Time Best (LTB) and a SR 2 time in the 200 free

Cherry Park was 5 of 8 LTB and a SR 2 time in the 200 back

Sathvik Katragadda was 7 of 8 LTB and a new SR Open time in the 200 breast

Nikita Kharse 5 of 6 LTB and a new SR Open time in the 50 free

Kyle Tseng 6 of 8 LTB and a new SR Open time in the 100 breast

Shaun Bhide was 5 of 7 LTB

Romir Chandra a new SR Open time in the 100 fly

It is a lot of fun to have a big group of Varsity swimmers at a meet and they did a great job with a couple of swimmers going to their first meet and getting ribbons on top of all that.

Alexander Siladie and Advait Madhekar both had great meets with new best time and lots of enthusiasm. Midori Lewis, Elizabeth Robinson and Jodie Ma are more experienced and it showed in the large improvement that they accomplished.

Coach Larry:

Age Group 1 swam really well this weekend at the Ellis meet.  They had 99% best times in their races with multiple heat winners.  They swam with a lot of energy and excitement.  I was not surprised because they have been doing great in practice, but it was still a lot of fun to watch.

Jonas Co was a standout swimmer.  He has worked really hard this year and this meet shows all that hard work.

The Pre-Senior group has turned a corner this season and is having some amazing results.  Ava Tseng got her first JO time of the season in the 500 Free and Darrel Liu got his first JO and Far Western in the 50 Free.  Other swimmers that added to their JO event list were Eamon Helding
