BCSCA Update: February 27

Good afternoon coaches,

We are fast approaching the winter championship season and wish teams the best of luck as they pursue new heights in Kamloops, Penticton and Vancouver over the next three weeks. The BCSCA will be calling together a coaches' meeting between sessions on the Sunday of Tier II (March 4) and the Sunday of Tier I (March 11) to collect feedback on the new Provincial format while it is fresh on everyone's mind. See you there!

BCSCA PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANT

The BCSCA is offering up to four $500 grants (or up to a cumulative maximum of $2000) to coaches interested in pursuing professional development opportunities to further their craft. Full details here. Applications are due on Sunday April 1, 2018

SWIM BC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SEARCH

Swim BC is well on its way in the search for a new Executive Director. The BCSCA would like to express its confidence in the hiring process and wish the committee continued success in attracting and vetting candidates.

JURY OF APPEAL

With the new jury of appeal rules allowing the possible inclusion of a coach to the jury of appeal, Swim BC and the BCSCA have created a process for adding a coach to the Jury.

For the provincial level (Tier I, Tier II and Senior Open) meets, the BCSCA will nominate a pool of coaches that will be available for potential Juries of Appeal. Three coaches will be named to the pool and those names will be sent to the meet management and Swim BC after the meet entry deadlines and coaches attending have been confirmed.
