CMA Swims Well At The Colorado 14&U State Championships
CMA had a tremendous CO 14 & Under SC State Championship Meet, yet again! Our six Junior swimmers who competed all swam VERY well!
Abi Stevens qualified for the meet in nearly every stroke and distance and had a tough time narrowing it down to only seven events. At the meet, she swam lifetime best times in every single event and scored 76 points for the team! Her top finishes were 3d place in the 50 free, with a .37 time drop, and 4th place in the 100 free, with a 2.28 second time drop! She also finished 8th in the 100 IM (2.55 drop), 10th in the 100 fly (1.13 drop), 14th in the 100 back (3.06 drop), 19th in the 50 back (.36 drop), and 21st in the 200 back (3.70 drop)!
Samantha Synsvoll also qualified in nearly every stroke and distance (despite just turning 11!) and had to narrow it down to the limit of seven events. She ended up scoring 8 points for the team, with her highest finish being 16th in the 200 breast, with a 3.48 second time drop! She also finished 18th in the 200 free (.77 drop), 22nd in the 100 free (.75 drop), 22nd in the 200 back (3.21 drop), 24th in the 100 breast, 28th in the 50 back, and 41st in the 100 back.
Elam Estella, who has only been swimming with the Junior group for three weeks(!), qualified in both 50 breast and 100 breast and ended up scoring 15 points for the team! He finished 12th in the 50 breast and 15th in the 100 breast, with a 5.75 second time drop!
Sinjin Schmeck also qualified in both 50 breast and 100 breast and scored 1 point for the team! He finished 20th in 50 breast, with a 2.04 second time drop and 21st in the 100 breast, with a 2.23 second drop!
Our 12 & under girls 200 medley relay team of  Samantha Grace Mehall Abi, and  Sienna Schmeck finished 17th and our 200 free relay team with the same girls finished 21st! Grace's relay splits were right on her best times and Sienna's 50 free relay split of 27.62 was a lot faster than her best time of 29.2!
We all thoroughly enjoyed the meet and are very much looking forward to having a large, successful group at this summer's CO Long Course State Championships!
At the 14&under Age Group State Championship meet the Senior group was represented by only Caroline Bricker, who made the most of it, competing in 7 different events, all of which she had to swim both prelims and finals. Competing with some of the best 13 and 14 year olds in the state, she ended up in the top twenty in the 200 back (18th), 100 free (14th), 200 IM (12th), 200 free (12th), 100 free (14th) and 100 fly (11th). She swam herself into the top ten in the 200 breast (5th) and the 100 breast (3rd). For both of her breaststroke races she managed to qualify for the USA Swimming Futures Championships, which will be held this summer in Rochester Minnesota.
