DC Wave has long supported the Black Heritage Swim Meet in North Carolina. Our team is one of the few that have attended the meet since it's inception. The meet has always been a fun way to cap off the indoor season and provide our swimmers with an opportunity to participate in a travel swim meet. As the success of the meet grew, DC Wave leadership sought to share this wonderful experience with the rest of Potomac Valley by putting together a travel team that displays the wonderful talent and diversity in our own community.
Team DMV was created with the purpose of supporting and encouraging diversity in the sport of swimming by connecting our community of swimmers, coaches, and parents to other multicultural swimming communities across the nation.
This year Team DMV-PV will travel to Cary, NC again to compete at the 16th National Black Heritage swim meet hosted by the North Carolina Aqua Blazers. DC Wave is one of Potomac Valley's most diverse teams and the founding team of Team DMV, and we are once again asking DC Wave swimmers, coaches, and families to be apart of Team DMV. The DC Wave Booster Club will support any DC Wave athletes/families that decide to join Team DMV by providing a DC Wave bus to travel to North Carolina, and block rooms at a nearby hotel for DC Wave families. For room and bus information please contact Kisha Clark - firstname.lastname@example.org.
DMV-PV Travel Team is open to all PVS-USA Swimming members. We would like to send a maximum of 125 swimmers to represent Team DMV Swimming at this Championship Meet. The trip dates are May 26-27. There will be one practice. The time, date and location will be announced upon the submission of your application. Space on the team for athletes is limited so please have your interested athletes fill out the application ASAP!
Registration will close on March 30, 2018 or when all spaces have been filled! After registration closes, you will receive an email within 48 hours with instructions on how to submit your deposit. Space on the team won't be secured until the travel coordinators receive the payments.
