Championship updates!

Congrats to our Senior team on a 3rd place finish at Senior State this past weekend! Always a great thing to add hardware to our trophy shelf especially after one of the closest Senior State meets in a long time – three teams over 1000 points!! Both our Men's & Women's 400 Free Relays closed out the weekend with a win and just whiskers away from a meet record.

Thank you for your patience with the schedule. With Water Polo starting up, we lose a significant amount of pool time to their workouts and games so we have to get pretty creative with the schedule and sometimes there are last minute changes that throw everything off – so we truly appreciate your understanding. As recently as last spring, we had cut workouts of athletes after their last championship meet to focus our available resources on members of the team still in active competition to enable a positive practice setting to maximize positive performance. However, now that we have access to the JCC and Baker, we are now able to offer workouts for the entire program – through mid-March, rather than stopping the majority of our athletes in Mid-February. A HUGE bonus, if you ask me!  So while our practices may be dropping in number, we are so glad to have the kids in workout and participating in practices – even if they’re a little shorter and more technique focused than usual.

That being said – the week of March 19th is a clinic week – we have some opportunities to try polo as well as some options to work on starts & turns.  The schedule is different and your athletes will get an opportunity to work with different coaches on our staff than normal. We love that our coaches bring different enthusiasm and approaches to the deck and we can’t wait for that to be shared across the program.

We will not have workouts from March 24-April 7 (New Trier & Religious school spring breaks) and we will resume with full workout schedules April 9th. Those will be available on our google calendars by the end of the week. Private lessons will be available during the first week of April.

Keep an eye out for information on the
Hour Of Power & Team Banquet on April 14th

Give a little sunshine – one of our former club coaches and current women’s HS coach Rick Peterson is currently battling Leukemia and is STILL working the deck. His current club team – GTAC has set up a YOUCARING website for him – please check it out and SHARE. https://www.youcaring.com/rickpeterson-1053086

And finally a huge congrats to our Age Group State Team and our NCSA Junior National Teams competing next week at the season ending competition.
