This past weekend, Richmond Rapids held the 4th Pass meet for AGD1s and RD1s looking to test their new swimming skills and graduate to LMR level meets.
In the 100 IM, Alvin Kuo swam a top time and personal best of 2:03.27. In the 200 IM, Alfred Ma swam the second fastest 200 IM of the morning with a 3:40.22, and Leo Tian finished first in 3:37.97. Both boys were well under the 4:00 time requirement for their Pass time. Leading the freestyle events were Chloe Rafer, going a 3:21.87 in her 200 freestyle, and Nicholas Peng, who just out-touched his teammate in 3:21.55 in a tight race.
Rounding out the meet were some high-energy relays, where the Rapids finished first and third. Helping the relays earn their top spot were Owen Pearce, Natalia Coelho, Jasmine Tiu, and Leo Tian finishing first, and Nicholas Peng, Alfred Ma, Merina Lau, and Scott Wang with the proud 3rd place finish
Congratulations to the to all the RD1s and AGD1s who raced and worked extra hard, and a special shout-out to Matthew Joe for racing at his first Pass meet! There were lots of personal best times, really great races, and excellent team cheering!
The coaches would also like to extend a special thank you to NAG swimmers Liam Pearce, Lauren Leung, and Ella de Costa, and RD3 swimmers Kingston and Winston Stone, who came out to volunteer. Support from the older generation to the younger generation of swimmers is invaluable to the success of any program. As always, a thank you to all the parents who volunteered and make these meets possible for the swimmers.
