Senior State for the gold group was another great meet. For most of the swimmers it was their 3rd championship meet and some still have 1 more to go. We set some new records and earned some more sectional times.
Jordan and Jan started it off with best times in the 1000 free on Thursday.
Friday had the rest of our state swimmers competing:
Jordan and Haley dropped 7-8 seconds each in their 200 breast as well as Duncan and Hunter dropping 4-6 seconds.
Luci dropped 2 sec. in the 100 fly while Duncan & Daphne reached a milestone and broke a minute.
Jan swam 7 sec. faster in his 500 & all swam fast in the 50 free shootout. The shootout is the 50 being raced each day, the top 30 swim finals on Friday, then top 20 swim Saturday & then top 10 swim Sunday. Daphne lasted through Sunday coming in 4th overall and setting a new team record at 24.46.
Saturday started with the girls and boys 200 free relays going best times and Alex being the lone 4IM swimmer dropping of 2.5 sec.
The 100 breast had time drops from Jordan, Hunter & Duncan. Haley & Luci are in a wonderful back and forth battle for the top backstroker on the team and Luci got the top honors so far and club record of 1:01.31.
On Sunday Hunter went a best time in the 200 back. Haley & Luci duked it out side by side both going best times but Luci edged out Haley by 1 sec.
In the 100 free Duncan & Levi have a battle of their own, Duncan dropped to a 51.5 & Levi now has top honors as he dropped to a 50.5.
The girls 400 Medley Relay brought Cali & Brandy in to race with Haley & Daphne. I wanted the girls to prove that they were fast enough to qualify a futures cut which our team has never had. They needed a 3:57.09 and they raced to a 3:55.4 proving they belong in that meet.
The next meet is Senior Sectionals where Cali, Brandy, Daphne & Haley will be representing the Dragons in Federal Way.
