The Langley Olympians were in Penticton from March 9th – 11th for the Swim BC Tier 1 Winter Championships. There were over 300 Swimmers competing from across BC. The Olympians took four swimmers Madison Belgica, Aidan Erickson, Macey Larson and Gracie Maryschak and brought back a silver and two bronze medals and all swimmers broke many of their personal best times.
Gracie Maryschak made the podium in three events this weekend. Gracie won a silver medal in the Women’s 11 – 12 100m Breaststroke with a personal best time of 1:20.22. Gracie won two bronze medals, one in the Women’s 11-12 200m Individual Medley with an improved time of 2:35.32 and the second in the Women’s 11 – 12 200m Breaststroke with a time of 2:54.47. She also placed in the top eight in three other events, she placed fifth in the Women’s 11-12 400m Individual Medley with a time of 5:33.62, seventh in the Women’s 11 – 12 400m Freestyle with an improved time 4:58.94 and eighth in Women’s 11-12 200m Butterfly with an improved time of 2:46.65.
Madison Belgica placed in the top eight in three events this weekend. She placed fourth in the Women’s 11-12 400m Individual Medley with an improved time of 5:29.14. She also placed sixth in the Women’s 11-12 400m Freestyle with an improved time of 4:57.65 and eighth in the Women’s 11-12 100m Butterfly with an improved 1:13.50.
Macey Larson placed in the top eight in consolation finals. She placed eighth in the Women’s 10 and under 200m Individual Medley and the Women’s 10 and Under 200m Freestyle.
