YMCA Swim Suit Drive & Swim for Jenny
Jenny was a beautiful, smart and energetic young girl who lost her life because she did not know how to swim. The YMCA of South Florida has as it's Number 1 priority the prevention and elimination of drowning in South Florida. Broward and MiamiDade counties have the highest rate of drowning deaths in children under the age of 8 years old in the country.
During the Swim 4 Jenny Week, the YMCA of South Florida provide Free Swim Lessons to anyone in the community from the ages of 6 months to Adults. All of our efforts during this week will be swim lessons and water safety education.
Additionally, this year we will run a "Swim Suit drive" from March 5th through the end of Spring Break ending on the 29th.  This will allow us to support any families coming to swim during Swim for Jenny week. With summer just around the corner the need for swim suits is here – and we want to make sure all YMCA children have access to one.
Each location will have a display in the lobby for you to drop off the swim suits, and please stop by the front desk to inquiry about this events.
