Registration for the 2018 Season will be held on Saturday, May 12th from 1-4PM at the Kentlands Clubhouse. The event includes a season kick-off get together and cook-out on the Clubhouse Lawn during and after registration. The Spring General Membership Meeting will be held during registration, at 1:30 PM. Please plan to attend to sign up for the team, to try on and purchase swim suits and spirit wear, to get your Kingfish welcome bag, and to meet the 2018 coaches. After you register, join fellow Kingfish families on the clubhouse lawn for an afternoon of fun activities.
Membership dues will increase to $150 per swimmer with a $30 per family concessions fee for 2018. If Kingfish dues present a financial hardship for your family, please reach out to any one of the Kingfish Board members (contact information may be found on the Kingfish website). Online registration will also open May 12th.
Volunteers sign-up will also open during registration at the clubhouse. Please be sure to attend to sign up to select your favorite spots since they will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The popular Little Kingfish will be available again this season. The program is designed for young swimmers not quite ready for pre-team. Dates and times will not be confirmed until May, 2018 but we anticipate offering the program on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 11:30-12:00 p.m. The program will begin after the conclusion of the MCPS school year. As in previous years, space is limited and all interested swimmers will need to be assessed prior to joining the Little Kingfish program. Assessments will take place on Wednesday, May 30. Please contact Emily Lilyestrom at firstname.lastname@example.org if you or someone you know is interested in learning more about Little Kingfish.
Pre-Team and New Swimmer Assessments
Try outs for the Kingfish Pre-Team will take place on Wednesday, May 30 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. All new swimmers and those wanting to try out for pre-team must register and will be assigned a specific time slot for their assessment. We will have more information for you as we get closer to the beginning of the season. If you have any questions please contact Emily Lilyestrom at email@example.com.
And a quick reminder, to those who were on the Summer 2017 Pre-Team and wish to be assessed for team - your assessment will take place on Tuesday, May 29, from 5:30-6:00 p.m.
Saturday May 12th will also be the deadline for ordering personalized Kingfish swim caps. The caps require a lengthy lead time, so orders must be placed on or before the deadline date. If you would like a personalized cap for your Kingfish, please contact our merchandise reps, Angel Godman firstname.lastname@example.org or Bhaval Shah email@example.com .
Call-Out for Key Position Shadows
Are you interested in learning more about one of the key parent volunteer roles? We are looking for parents to shadow any of our key positions during the upcoming season. Please consider shadowing these positions this season to learn more – without these key positions filled we cannot run the team. Please contact Meredith Fogle at Meredith@meredithfogle.com or Tara Hofmann at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested.
The Kingfish are once again offering opportunities for team sponsorship. This year, all sponsors who commit by April 30 will have their logo included on our registration marketing pieces and flyers. Please contact Meredith Fogle at email@example.com for more information about sponsoring the team.
The meet schedule can now be found on the Kingfish website at www.kentlandskingfish.com
