The Hawkeye Swim Camps are for competitive swimmers of all levels. Ages 9-18 are eligible to register for camp. However, in order to register as a resident camper, campers must be 10 years old by the 1st day of camp. We ask that younger campers be able to swim 1 length (25 yds.) of each of the competitive strokes (Fly, Back, Breast, Free).
Hawkeye Swim Camp will concentrate on proper technique of each of the strokes. Two daily water sessions will be focused on drill work, and will be conducted in a SCY course. The additional Tuesday evening session will focus on competitive starts (Forward, Backstroke, and Relay starts).
Campers will get to hear from and talk to Head Coach Marc Long and Associate Head Coach Frannie Malone along with Assistant Coaches and a number of our elite student-athletes training at The University of Iowa. In addition to the water sessions, time will be spent on reviewing video footage, talking about proper technique, proper sport nutrition, goal setting, and getting to know the student-athlete counselors and learning about their athletic experiences.
