Former Spartan Swim Club athlete Carson Olafson will be competing next week at the 2018 Commonwealth games held on the Golden Coast in Queensland Australia. Swimming at the Games will be taking place April 5th to April 10th and Carson will be racing the 200m Freestyle, the 4 x 100m Freestyle relay and the 4 x 200m freestyle relay. Although this is a great achievement this will not be Olafson’s first crack at international competition. During his time with the Spartan Swim Club Carson competed at the 2015 World Junior Championships in Singapore where he helped the Canadians to a fifth in the 4 x 200m Free and a sixth in the 4 x 100m free. Since then Carson has been swimming a the National Training Centre in UBC and has won several National Medals and just recently raced at the 2017 FINA World Championships where his men’s relay finished eighth in the 4 x 100m Free relay.
Congratulations to Carson on his achievements and make sure you tune in to watch him and the rest of the Canadians at the 2018 Commonwealth games!
