SEVA Families,

Spring Break from practices is now behind us. Our swimmers have now started the last 9 weeks of the school year.

GREAT JOB to all SEVA swimmers at their short course championship meets the end of February and all of March. For the first time in SEVA history, our team won both the 12 & Under District Champ meet and the 13 & Older Region Champ meet in the same year. While our coaching staff thought we had a good chance to win both meets, SEVA swimmers swam so well that we dominated the competition. At the 12 & Under District Champ meet, the SEVA girls and boys finished in 1st place. The combined team scores were as follows:

SEVA 2035 points

TIDE 1579 points

CGBD 1145.50 points

At the 13 & Older Region champ meet, the SEVA girls placed 3rd, the SEVA boys place 1st and the combined team scores were as follows:

SEVA 2507 points

TIDE 1472 points

CGBD 1408 points

SEVA swimmers were DOMINATED the competition.

Virginia Age Group Champ Results: Congratulations to Matthew Potter who earned High Point honors for the meet not only in the 11 – 12 boys age group but earned the overall High Point award when including all age groups. Matthew is coached by Steve Griffin. AWESOME!!

We also had a great beginning to the Long Course season at the SEVA LC Head Start meet the end of March. Results from of all of these meets can be seen on the web site. From the home page, click on Meet Info. From the drop down window, click on “Meet Results”, then look for the meet name you want to see and click on it. The swimmers are listed in alphabetical order. Our swimmers swam fast and were able to show continued improvement with their stroke technique & basic skills. I hope the swimmers had a lot of fun competing.

THANK YOU to all SEVA parents that signed up to fulfill your meet manpower requirements during both the short course and long course SEVA hosted meets. SEVA parents staffed almost all the meet positions except for a few officials and timer spots. Our meets run really well when we have your help.
