Sierra Nevada Families –
Thank you for attending the 2018 Spring Splash meet the weekend of April 20-22nd. An event survey is available if you would like to provide some feedback on what we did well and what we can improve for next year.
I would really like to thank some key folks that made this weekend run as smoothly as it did. We had an amazing officials team that was led by Rebecca Landre (Meet Referee), Mauricio Cordova (Head Starter), Richardo Allen (Admin Referee), Thad Winzenz (Chief Judge), and Mark Brown (Computer Lead). This group was a pleasure to work with throughout the weekend and their work prior to the meet to prepare and organize their teams was key to the meet. Long course meets require a lot more officials than short course meets and the team of officials from all teams that volunteered their time this weekend was amazing since they didn't get a lot of breaks and it was a very warm weekend. So make sure you thank your officials that represented your team!
Thank you also to the Sierra Marlins families that helped in all areas from meet setup, hospitality, announcing, awards, snackbar, marshalls, Colorado timing, and scratch desk. Your time doing these jobs was well spent for the very successful meet.
Thank you to all the parents from all of the teams that helped fill timing chairs throughout the weekend. I know many teams helped out other teams by cover timing chairs when needed to help keep the meet moving. It is great to have our swimming community supporting eachother.
Thank you to our product sponsors who made product donations to support our meet, Starbucks @ Riley/Wales and Blue Ravine/Natoma Station, Chick Fil A, and Adanbertos.
Thank you as well to our SafeSport sponsor for this meet, SwimLabs Swim School. I hope you had a chance to stop by their booth as well as the SafeSport booth to pick up some information. If you missed them, please visit their website https://www.swimlabs.com/eldoradohills. For more information about SafeSport, please visit https://usaswimming.org/protect.
Thank you also to MakingWaves for being on deck Friday night and Sunday.
Then last but not least, thank you to the Folsom Aquatics Center staff! The staff and lifeguards were on deck all weekend to help with many issues from bandaids, keeping the pool deck clear, lost and found, and any other issue that needed attention at the facility.
