It’s not too late to join the fun!
Swim team registration is still open. Please note that to ensure your t-shirt size and personalized swim cap order, you should register no later than Monday May 14. In addition, please remember to pay your pool membership by Tuesday May 1st in order to avoid a $100 late fee.
Speaking of fun… why should the kids be the only ones to have a good time? Did you know that the Great Wahoo is searching for several individuals willing to volunteer their time and talents during the 2018 swim season? Are you creative and need an outlet to express your talents? Are you new to the team and want to meet your neighbors? If you answered yes to any of these questions then we have a job for you!
Communications Coordinator – Assist with drafting and sending emails and other communications to the team members and coaching staff.
Banquet Coordinator/Assistants (2-3 positions) -Plans and manages the end of season banquet. This is an excellent position for fun and creative individuals interested in making the last Wahoo social event of the season fun for both kids and adults. The position requires approximately 40-50 hours per volunteer to coordinate food, decorations, drinks, DJ, and awards ceremony.
Snack Bar Assistants (2 positions) -Responsible for determining snack bar inventory and providing a shopping list to the snack bar manager 2-3 days before a Saturday or Monday meet. The snack bar assistants also help set-up the snack bar for swim meets, oversee snack bar operations during the meets, and make sure swim team volunteers work effectively with snack bar employees. The position is also responsible for ordering items for pick up i.e.- donuts, breakfast burritos, etc. - before meets.
Pasta Dinner Coordinator - Responsible for planning the pasta dinner held on Friday, June 22nd. Shops for decorations, drinks and paper supplies, and manages event set-up and clean-up.
Spirit Wear Assistant – Assist the spirit wear coordinator with the design, order and delivery of team spirit wear to the team. Selects and orders the team swim suit. Also, responsible for distributing team t-shirts and swim caps.
National Anthem Assistant – Assists the national anthem coordinator find and audition swimmers and family members to play the national anthem at the beginning of each NVSL and Developmental meet. Coordinates with announcers to ensure good sound system and performance.
