LC 2018 Super Scoop #4

LC 2018
Super Scoop #4
Tuesday, May 1st

Greetings Super Bronze and Super Squad Families!

In this edition, I will have some Practice CHANGES, Meet Information for this weekend, Meet Changes for Home Meet, and a pickup for Recognition Trophies and Yearbooks.

Practice!

As mentioned at the Parent Meeting, we are expecting everyone to attend at least 2 out of the 4 practices per week, but we are recommending 3 out of 4 to really see improvement of all aspects of the sport. We understand all of our swimmers do activities other than swimming, and we 100% respect that and want them to pursue other interests. My goal for them is to have enough fun while learning to ultimately get them to choose swimming.

SB Schedule Changes:
Saturday, 5/5 – Practice TIME CHANGE to 10:30-11:30am with Coach Eric
Saturday, 5/12 – No Practice (Due to WYW Summer Qualifier)

SS Schedule Changes:
Saturday, 5/5 – No Practice (Should be attending RYWC Meet)
Friday, 5/11 – No Practice (Due to WYW Summer Qualifier)
Saturday, 5/12 - No Practice (Due to WYW Summer Qualifier)

**Starting THIS week, we will begin a Dryland Routine before practice on Tuesday (5:30-5:45pm) and Friday (5:15-5:30pm). These time are before practice begins to get a little stretching or education in before practice starts. If you can make that time great…if not, don’t worry about it. We will be meeting on the Pool Deck as we would normally do for practice.

Special Events!

In this section, I will give a run-down of all important dates, some of which may be repeats of things above, just to put it all in the same place for you!

  1. BUBBLE DOWN

Please save the date, Saturday May 19th in the morning to help us take down our Bubble and make way for Summer sunshine on the 50M Pool!

  1. SB Cinco de Mayo Fiesta

TOMORROW, Wednesday May 2nd, the Super Bronze group will have their first group party of the season in the Lobby after Practice from 6:00-7:00(ish). These get togethers are great for the kids to hang out and get to know one another outside of the pool. If you are willing to help, please email our Squad VP’s!

  1. Parent Handbooks/Team T-Shirts

If you attended our Parent Meetings last week and didn’t receive a New Wahoo Handbook, please see me after Practice. Every Wahoo Family must have a Wahoo Handbook. If you are returning Wahoo Family or have an older sibling on the team and have already received a Wahoo Handbook, you are all set.

Also, I have a few more swimmers who haven’t received a Team T-Shirt, if you are one of these, please also see me after practice so I can get you your swag!

  1. Recognition Trophies/Yearbooks

If your swimmer did not attend the Recognition Night Awards Banquet, please see me for Super Squad Trophies/Yearbooks, or SB VP Laurie Jandura for Super Bronze Trophies/Yearbooks.

  1. Meet Volunteers
    1. Interested in learning about becoming an Official, the Computer or Daktronics timing systems for our LC meets?  Contact Amy Nonnenmacher (amynonnen@optonline.net) or Kara Babashak (babashak@sbcglobal.net)
