Dear Seals Families:
In today’s Seal missive, we will explore four topics: 1) Time trials results; 2) Signups for our next meet; 3) Sunday’s special swim clinic; and 4) The OnDeck app.
Without further ado:
1)TIME TRIALS: Time trials went swimmingly well last Saturday (aside from those poor 8-and-under girls in the first heat of the day who accidentally ended up swimming the 25 free twice, oops!). You can see the results here.
2) SATURDAY’S MEET @ LUCAS VALLEY: The coaches are pumped to have our young Seals’ first dual meet at the Lucas Valley Lightning’s pool this Saturday. Please note that sign-ups for the Lucas Valley meet close tomorrow, Wednesday evening. Please click here to declare whether your swimmer is swimming or not now! We WILL close this registration, and while in the past late registrations have been allowed, we are discontinuing this practice because it makes for too much work for the coaches. Warm ups at Lucas Valley begin at 8 am, and the meet starts at 8:30 am.
3) The Seals will be hosting Sunday clinics this season focused on specific technical racing skills. The dates for our clinics will be May 6, May 20, June 3, and June 24. The clinic sessions will be capped at 32 swimmers per session. There will be one sessions at each Sunday clinic for swimmers age 9 and older and one session for swimmers ages 8 and under. This Sunday’s session will cover dives, starts and breakouts. Register here.
4) And finally, if you haven’t already, please take the time to download the OnDeck app on your phone. This is the mobile version of the Strawberry Seals TeamUnify site (www.strawberryseals.com) and it includes social-media type feature called “TeamFeed.” Make sure to turn your notifications “ON” for this app in your phone settings, because there are times we send out messages to the team via this app.
Whew! That’s it! See you on deck!
