Wellington Dolphins May E-Bulletin Newsletter

May Madness 2018-Volume I.

Welcome to the Week at a Glance E-Bulletin that provides your one-stop-spot for all the information you need to know now, some reminders, and where to find the information you need.  Please make sure you are logged on to the website when you review the information-many of the pages are visible only when you are logged in.

REGISTRATION OPEN Through June  6th
Our numbers have topped 275 swimmers, but we still have room on the team!  Our families are our best advertisers. If you know of a family that may be interested in swimming with us, send them our way. All pricing and registration information is located   HERE. Mini Dolphins is sold out, but as of today, we have no Minis on the Waitlist as we have been able to move them up. With Time Trials on June 9th, we are unable to take registrations after June  6th.

CONFIRM SWIMMER INFORMATION
Please review the swimmer roster information under the Parent tab> Swimmer Rosters. This is to double check we have all the information correct, especially t-shirt sizes. If you need a change to your swimmer's info, send us an email.

TEAM SUIT SALES -IF YOU MISSED THE FITTINGS
If you missed the team suit fitting dates, you can visit Riptide Swim Shop located in Central Park Aquatic Center. Information on Team Suit Sales is linked  HERE.

OFFICIALS TRAINING
Key to our success is our parent volunteers who train to become Stroke and Turn judges. These volunteers work pool-side at meets to watch the races and  ensure all the rules of the game are followed. If you are interested in training to become a Stroke and Turn Judge, the  PWSL offers two free clinics. One is on  Wednesday, May  30th at  Occoquan Bible Church, the other is on   Saturday, June  2nd at  Sudley.  (Attend one or the other, not both.) If you are unable to make either of these two sessions, let us know. Our Head Referee can work with you for some in-house training. Remember to sign up on the volunteer lists for these clinics if you go.

VOLUNTEER SIGN UPS
We have the meet volunteer sheets open for all meets. To meet your obligations per the Volunteer agreement that states families must contribute 15 hours of volunteer time, plus one shift at Divisionals, please take some time to visit all of the meet sign-ups and sign up to help where you can. We have lots of information about Volunteering linked from the  Parent Tab of our website. Make sure you are signed on to the website to view the Parent Tab content and sub-pages.

MEET SIGN-OUT IS NOW OPEN
Meet entry files for all the meets have been created. You can now sign your Competitive swimmer out of any meets you will be missing this summer. It is essential you sign out for meets by the deadline posted on the Meet Schedule page. Failure to sign out will drive the Coaches crazy. Don't risk it. There are step-by-step instructions on how to do this posted under the Parent tab on the Sign out for a Meet page. If you are having trouble accessing your account, or still don't understand what to do, send us an email and we will help.

LAST CALL FOR TEAM SPONSORS
If you are the owner of a business that would be interested in sponsoring the team, please let us know.   Our Sponsorship Program has several levels of sponsorship available with lots of perks. Since we are recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, part of your team sponsorship may be tax deductible. If you are interested in GOLD sponsorship, we need to hear from you right away so we can get you set up on our team T-shirts.

LIFEGUARDS
We are in the process of building our list of Lifeguards to work our morning practices and at meets. If any of our teen swimmers are a certified Lifeguard and would like to be considered to join our Guard Crew, send us an email. This is a paid job, so a great way to make a few dollars after finishing with practice. We also will also gladly accept sibling non-swimmers who are voluntold or certified parents who want to use Lifeguarding as a way to make volunteer hours.

CUSTOM CAPS
If you want custom silicone team caps with the name of your swimmer, click HERE to go to the information for online ordering. Order deadline is May 8th to allow for adequate production time

TEXT ALERTS
We will be communicating practice cancelations and urgent information using text alerts along with our Twitter (WDSwimTeam) and our Facebook (Wellington Dolphins Swim Team). You do not need a Twitter or Facebook account to view these pages. Posts to Twitter>Facebook also post on the home page of our website. To make sure you have your phone set up properly to receive text alerts, follow the instructions for setting up text alerts under the Parent tab or click HERE.
