Tentative Meet Timelines: 12&U; 13&O

The GPAC Long Course Derby is this weekend at Gloucester Institute of Technology in Sewell, New Jersey.

The ENTIRE meet will be scratch-back; in other words, all events are positive check-in.  The coaching staff will receive scratch sheets in order to scratch out swimmers who will not be attending that session, or won't be doing a particular event.  If you know ahead of time that your swimmer will not be swimming an event or session, please let Coach Pablo know at pablom@delawareswimteam.com, or Coach Coop know at dcopper@gmail.com.

There are assigned warm-ups for this meet.  You can view when DST will warm up here.

NAAC SPRING LONG COURSE MEET

The NAAC Spring Long Course Meet is this weekend at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Please make note that the pool facility is on an active naval base, and so parking is not permitted on-base, and all adults entering the base must show ID at the base gate for entry (non-citizens must show a passport).  Children cannot get on base without parent accompaniment.  Bags for all people, including children, may be subject to search.

Parking on the naval base is not allowed except if for active duty or Department of Defense personnel.  Parents will have to find parking in Annapolis and walk to the base.

There are assigned warm-ups for this meet.  You can view when DST will warm up here.

SWIM TEAM BANQUET

The swim team banquet will be held on Sunday, May 20, at the Clarion Hotel - The Belle at 1612 N. DuPont Highway (on US Route 13 near New Castle).  We will have the banquet from 12:30-4:00.

All swimmers, and non-swimming children 14 & under, will be $16.  All non-swimmers over 14 years old will be $26.  Officials will be free; thank you for helping officiate our meets this past season!

The menu will be chicken au jus and green beans and garden salad; penne with marinara, with meatballs on the side.  The penne with marinara is a vegetarian option.  If you need another vegetarian option or need another dietary need addressed, please let Coach Matt know at matthewaungst@freestyles.org by May 9.

SUMMER PROGRAM FOR NON-NATIONAL SWIMMERS

If you would like your swimmer to get in some extra work at Delaware Swim Team while participating at your summer outdoor pool, or if you are around all summer without many activities planned, Delaware Swim Team has a summer practice schedule that may be of interest to you.

Families participating in NBSL may be interested in Summer Blue groups.  These groups will run just on Mondays and Wednesdays, to work around the normal NBSL swim meet schedule, and will be available at our New Castle location.  These groups will be at a reduced rate from the Summer Green groups, which will run Mondays through Thursdays.

Families participating in SSL may be interested in the Summer Yellow groups.  These groups will run just on Tuesdays and Thursdays, to work around the normal SSL swim meet schedule, and will be available at our Pike Creek location.  These groups will be at a reduced rate from the Summer Green groups, which will run Mondays through Thursdays.

If you would like to utilize a Summer group all four days of the week, the Summer Green groups are the best fit.  Signing up for the Summer Green group gives you both the Summer Blue and Summer Yellow practices (hence the "Green" names).  The Summer Green groups are priced lower than signing up for both the Summer Blue and Summer Yellow groups concurrently.  Practices for the Summer Green groups will alternate between our New Castle and Pike Creek locations.

These summer practice groups will open for registration tomorrow, and stay open through the spring and summer.

Thanks,
The Delaware Swim Team coaching staff
