Opportunity - Becoming a USA Swimming Official

As we look forward to the new facility that will be built with the SPLOST funds, and with the hopes of being able to host Sanctioned meets in the future, we need to begin assembling a team of USA Swimming Certified Officials.

We would like to ask for volunteers to join our WRA Officials Committee. This committee will be comprised of WRA families who choose to pursue Officials Certification. The first step in becoming an official is to attend a Stroke & Turn training class, either by attending an in-person S&T clinic, or by participating in an online class. The next online  Stroke & Turn Official Training class will be held on January 12th, from 6:00pm - 8:30pm, and you can sign up for the online class through the GA Swimming website, by clicking here

Additional steps in the training process can be found on the GA Officials website: How to become an Official

Any WRA family who completes the steps to become an Official can then submit receipts for classes, registration, and background checks, and the full amount will be credited to their WRA accounts. Once your Official Certification is complete, you do not have to wait for the new facility - You will immediately be able to start officiating at any of the meets that WRA attends, where you will gain experience and start becoming a more integral and vital part of the GA Swimming community. Plus you get the best view in the facility!

If you are interested in joining this Committee, please email assistant@wraswim.com, even if you can't attend the upcoming 01/12 training class. I would like to add your name to a list of interested families for future Official Certification communications. If you do take the class, upon completion, please forward a copy of the email indicating you've passed the class to assistant@wraswim.com

And as always, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thank you,
