May 6, 2018
Here is your news for the week! Better late than never, right?! I was out of town, so this was my first chance to pull it together. Short and sweet… But very important.
PRACTICE MAY 7-11
All practices are normal times this week.
IMPORTANT MEET DECLARATION DEADLINES
- RFSC Home Meet May 19: Deadline is TOMORROW - MONDAY - we currently have half the team signed up! That is great, but have over 20 who have not declared yet. Please log in and let us know if you are coming. As a reminder, this will be a quick, one-session meet. Warm-ups will be at 9am. The meet will start at 10am. It is only a quad, so we should be cleaned up and out of there before 2pm.
- RFSC Volunteering: WE STILL HAVE OPENINGS THAT NEED TO BE FILLED!! Each family needs to volunteer one point of time if you are in the spring portion of the season only and two points if you are in the full session. Our home meet is the only event during the spring portion. We will have the Swim-A-Thon on June 28 that will need a few volunteers as well as the parade on July 13. The home meet is currently the only thing ready to accept volunteers.
SWIMMER OF THE MONTH - SEPTEMBER
Around the first of each month, the coaches will pick one male and one female swimmer who has excelled the previous month. Coaches are looking for things like a positive attitude, hard work, showing improvement on technique, being on time for practice, listening to coaches, respecting teammates, etc. They will be awarded a special swimmer of the month swim cap for their efforts!
Congratulations to Kylie Schaefer and Sean Carroll for being the swimmers of the month for December. Please see Brenda in the office for you cap!
As I catch up on things, there may be a mid-week email coming out to update additional items.
