TAC Board Meeting Minutes
TAC Board Meeting May 9, 2018
Attendance: Jason, Niabi, Rob, Silvy, Elton, Laurie, Mitch, Christine
Treasurers Report Rob:  Expenses from the West Coast Open will be coming in with the exchange rate we dont know exactly what they will be yet.  Overall, income is down this year, due to meet attendance, but he has been tracking it with the four meets the team does and since 2015 he hasnt seen a definite pattern.  The numbers are fluctuating.  There is concern that with NWAC not having a team and BBST not bringing as many swimmers (they are not bringing their older swimmers to the meets any longer) and overlap with our meet and other meets, we will not see as much attendance at our scheduled meets in the future. We will try to bid on AGI in the fall 2018, which would see many swimmers (and then potentially not doing the Fall Thunderbird if we got the AGI meet).  Rob believes we are fine financially we will ride this out and we have money in reserves to cover this current shortfall.
Vice President/Meet Director Report Niabi: The numbers are down for the Spring Thunderbird, because BBST is not sending older swimmers and Golds has their Spring Open in Federal Way.  We are looking at potentially inviting Canadian Teams next year to the Spring Thunderbird. Niabi, James and Jillian are going to the House of Delegates meeting June 12th.
Coach Jason Report:  The summer schedule will be out early this week for TAC swimmers already on the team, they do not have to sign up again to swim in the summer.  The new bulkheads have been a great addition to the pool they allow twice as many swimmers to swim.  There are 21 swimmers signed up for the team trip to the Tri-Cities Jason, Jillian and Zoey will be accompanying the team.  There are currently 125 swimmers rostered with the team.
Executive Director Report - Mitch: Update on the new pool scoping and design process.  Encouraged TAC parents and swimmers to get involved in the process as one of the largest users of the pool.  Letters to the editor from TAC parents or swimmers in the Anacortes American citing the benefits and positive aspects of swimming, TAC, and the need for a new pool would be helpful in the process as the pool board decides next steps. The next public meeting is May 22nd from 5-6 at the library.  A new electronic sign will go up in early June outside the front entrance of the pool.
Team Banquet is June 8th after practice at the middle school commons.  TAC will cater the event please come and celebrate a great year of swimming with your swimmers!
