Thank you for a great parent meeting on Tuesday night! We have such a wonderful, dedicated group of parents who make TFS the amazing team that it's been for 20+ years.
As a reminder from our parent meeting, you must log in to your TFS online account and declare your swimmer's attendance for meets. Please go to your online account and declare your swimmer's attendance for our mock meet next week! This will be good practice for registration for all other swim meets. You will have the ability to edit attendance up until the day before the meet (we all know things pop up and schedules change, even at the last minute). Coach Paul will use the attendance roster to build the meet event schedule. When swimmers check in at the meets, they will be given their assigned events (written on their hands in sharpie marker). Parents also have the option to purchase heat sheets at the meets for $2.
As discussed on Tuesday night, for every meet your swimmer will be attending, we require 1 parent/guardian to volunteer for at least 1 shift during the meet. Once you've declared your swimmer as "yes" or "no" to attend the meet, please go back into the event page and click on the "job sign up" tab and select the job you would like to work. You will be able to edit your assignment up to the day before the meet.
We reviewed many more details at the parent meeting. We attached the handout from the parent meeting for your reference. PLEASE CAREFULLY REVIEW ALL THE INFORMATION ON THE HANDOUT!! If you have any questions about the online system for declaring your swimmer's attendance at meets and/or volunteering for a job, please stop by the pool office or email us at email@example.com
EVERYONE!!! GO ONLINE AND DECLARE YOUR SWIMMER(S) FOR OUR MOCK MEET AND SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER NOW!! DON'T WAIT OR YOUR FAVORITE JOB MAY BE TAKEN!!
Parents - Have you ordered your TFS team shirt, yet? We have several different styles to choose from on our team store. Just go to our website and click on the "Team Store and Apparel" tab. It'll take you right to our team store. The team store is also a fundraiser for our team. When you purchase items, we receive a percentage back. As a non-profit organization, every penny counts! We ask that parents wear their team shirts (or team colors) while working their volunteer assignments at meets. If you order now, your shirt should arrive by our first swim meet (the turn around can be up to 15 business days).
More details regarding our Mock Swim Meet:
We are very excited to be hosting our mock-meet next . The purpose of the mock meet is to help our new members better understand how we run our meets and prepare our swimmers for the upcoming meet season. We will be setting up starting at . Even though we assign parents of 6 and unders to help set up for all other swim meets, all are welcome to come help set up for our mock meet. We will have full access to the pool starting at (when the Rec Center ends public swim). The meet will start as soon as we are set up and ready to go (between ).
For all other meets, we have 2 different shifts for parents to volunteer. For the mock meet, we are scheduling only 1 shift from 5:30 - 8:00 pm. The actual time of the shift will depend on when the meet actually starts and ends. Please be patient and flexible. If you do not sign up to volunteer ahead of time, you will be assigned a job at check in.
A few more pointers to help the mock meet go as smoothly as possible for you:
Swimmers can wear the new team swim suit to the mock meet.
Don't forget to bring goggles, towels and other swim related items. Visit the Membership Section - Swim Meets Page on the website for more tips.
Bring $1 bills (or $5s, $10s or $20s) for our 50/50 Raffle.
We will have several veteran parents who will be "training" our new parents in their volunteer jobs. During the meet, look for the people wearing the black and white striped referee shirts when you need help or have questions.
Stay tuned to email for additional updates. If you have any questions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
