Thunderbolts Win 2018 First General Grand Prix
Over 90 Thunderbolts athletes completed another successful weekend at the 2018 First General Grand Prix. The competition held at the Canada Games Complex hosted t eams from across the Northwest region, Minnesota, North Dakota, Sault Ste Marie,  Kapuskas ing  and Hearst.
The  BOLTS  collected  104 medals(44 Gold, 34 Silver and 30 Bronze)  over the course of the weekend which led to the   winning the Large Team High Point Award and the $5000 Cash.
Along with the impressive Team total, Individual High Points Awards were won by  Mackenzie Thompson(10&Under Girls), Sam Chisholm(11-12 Year Old Boys), Isabel Harri(13-14 Year Old Girls) and Cameron Johnsen(15 and Over Boys.) Finally, Cameron Johnsen(16) and Luke Foulds(11) both won the Coach/Athlete Tandem Award for Top Individual swims for the meet.
Along with the great weekend of racing, l ongtime Thunderbolt and Northwest Region  volunteer Janice  Trush  was presented with a Good Citizen  A ward from the City of Thunder Bay  for her years as a Builder and Swim Official in the Thunder Bay and the Region. 
The Thunderbolts look to finish their 45th season on a high at upcoming Provincial and National competitions in Toronto, Minneapolis and Winnipeg.  For more information please visit the Bolts website.
