The Escape the Heat meet at the indoor Long Swim Center in Clearwater was probably our best non championship meet ever. An awesome positive atmosphere all around the pool but especially within our own team. It is not unusual but rather common to see swimmers 12 years and younger swimming lifetime bests during the season. But to see multiple swimmers 15 years and older, unrested, swimming either lifetime bests or unrested bests is quite awesome, especially this early in the season.
A few special notes;
Congrats to 13 yr. old Cole Kennedy, swimming to his first ever FLAG Qual. time, in the 800 m. free.
Ryley Ober, 17 yrs., LTB in the 400 free and a Junior National qualifying time
Anna Freed, 16 yrs., LTB in the 200 back and a Junior National qualifying time
Chloe Fisher, 12 yrs., LTB in the 50 fly and a new team record
Shelby Villemaire, 12 yrs., LTB in the 100 fly and a new team record
Cody Crawford, last meet as a 10 yr. old, seven 1st place and two 2nd place, New team records in both the 50 & 100 fly events.
Luca Simon, 12 yrs., six 1st place finishes, winning several races by just a fingernail touch.
It was an exhilirating weekend of fast swimming from our ten and under through our oldest swimmers. Consistent attendance and consistent hard work we are seeing awesome results.
Next chance at awesomeness in the pool will be in two weeks at the Shark Open at the local YMCA. Lets all get ready for another great weekend of swimming.
GO TSUNAMI !!!!!
