Swim and Dive Update, June 17

Fun and very full week ahead!  Please read the entire email because it’s long but full of information.

Swim Caps & Team Suits Each swimmer gets a Pennypacker latex swim cap and they are currently in your family folder.  Pennypacker caps must be worn at swim meets.  Silicone caps are available for $12.50.  Adrienne Cooper will have them at the varsity swim meet this week if you’d like to purchase one.  Team Suits can be purchased at Toad Hollow.

Mon. 6/18 Dive Team Shammie Tie Dye – Join Coach Lisa from 11:45-12:45 with your shammie and have fun working together to tie dye them!  Coach Lisa still has a few to sell if you’d like to purchase one.

Tues. 6/19 Swim and Dive Team Pictures – Pictures start at 9:00am. Picture order forms are in your family folder.  Bring completed forms and payment with you the morning of pictures.  Individual pictures are usually first down by the swim blocks followed by team pictures on the temporary bleachers set up at the shallow end of the big pool.  Please leave the first few rows of umbrellas empty until pictures are complete.

Tues. 6/19 Team CMMD Splashin’ It For A Cure Rooster Meet and Team Picnic – following team pictures.   Please check in with Jen Jefferis to get your lunch ticket(s) under the barn when you arrive (or after you get your picture taken).

The divers and swimmers who committed to attend will be split into 3 teams and kick off our fundraising efforts by participating in the Swim-A-Fun/Rooster Meet!  Rebekah Ulmer from Team CMMD will speak to the kids about who Team CMMD is and what they do.  Rebekah will help us to learn how the money WE raise as a team, will help local families who are battling pediatric cancer.  The teams will then splash it out in the pool as they participate in the fun pool games.  Remember to show your spirit!  Following the pool fun, we will meet for a picnic lunch.

Please visit our table in the barn and try your luck at the “Cancer Sucks” lollipop bucket and to visit our Splashin’ It For A Cure community board located by the lifeguard station.  The swim/dive team will be selling green bows that will be used to decorate this board.  These green bows will represent the PennyPacker community coming together to help others in our local area.  These bows can also be in honor of someone you know who is battling cancer or who you have lost due to cancer.  Each bow will have a tag on it in which you can write your family’s name (or honoree) and the bows will be hung on the board.  Bows will be sold for a $10 donation. Swim/dive team members who would like to help sell bows, please see Dana Jones.  HELP US FILL THE BOARD WITH BOWS!

Our team will also begin selling raffle tickets for “PICK YOUR TABLE FOR THE 4TH OF JULY” and “PICK YOUR FAVORITE UMBRELLA FOR A WEEK!” Raffle tickets will be $5.00.  We will sell these tickets through Sunday, July 1st and the winner will be announced that evening!  If your swimmer/diver would like to help sell raffle tickets, please find Dana Jones!

Friday night is PCC’s first Float Night (6:30) featuring the movie Mauna (9:00)!  During this event, the swim/dive team will be selling Coke and Root Beer FLOATS as part of our CMMD fundraising efforts.  Please stop by the FLOAT table in the barn and help support our team!  Parents, if you would like to donate for our float night, we could use 2 liter bottles of root beer and coke, straws, spoons and napkins.  And swimmers/divers, if you are at the Movie Night and want to help make floats, come see us in the barn!   (You can give these donations to Dana Jones.)

We will be selling Ducky Grams during the first home meets (JV – 6/26, Varsity – 6/27 and Dive – 6/28).  Show your swimmers some LOVE by sending them a fun Ducky Gram to cheer them on!

Stay tuned for more CMMD fundraising events and to learn more about our Splashin’ It For A Cure website!
