We are asking all Baker Park swimmers to please commit to the dual meets by the Saturday preceding the weeks meets. This is an extremely important part of summer swimming because of the quick turn around and the amount of work that goes into the lineups.  Please note that there are no swim practices in the evenings when there is a Tuesday or Thursday dual meet.

Baker Park Invite: Registration closed 6/16 – if you have any issues, please email Coach Carrie

Middle Atlantic Junior Olympics: 6/18 – USA swimming members

As a team, we require all Baker Park families to volunteer at swim meets.  We can’t set-up, run, or break-down a swim meet without volunteers.  Specifically, each Baker Park family must volunteer for:

  1. 3 or more shifts at the dual meets; and
  2. at our Baker Park Invitational Meet this Saturday; and
  3. as needed at other Invitational Meets you attend including Champs.

Signups are linked to each Event tab on our website www.payswim.org; please contact Kate Baganski (kbaganski@verizon.net) or another veteran swim parent if you have a question about what a particular job is.  Any family that does not satisfy their family volunteer requirement for the summer will be invoiced $75 in August by the Parents Aquatic Club.

Most of this will have little effect due to meets, but Tuesday’s Junior 2 practice will end at 8:00, not 8:15. We were unable to secure guards for the last 15 minutes after Baker Park closing.

This is a reminder that all the officials at our meets are volunteers and have a job to do. If you have any issue with the volunteers, please go to a coach so that they can bring the issue to the head official. Under no circumstance should you as a parent talk to an official. Thank you for your cooperation.

This Friday June 22, will be our annual swim-a-thon fundraising event for our summer league's charity event.  This year our summer league is raising funds for A Mother's Wish Foundation.   amotherswishfoundation.org   A Mother's Wish Foundation was formed by a group of mothers with family members or friends impacted by Crohn's disease or ulcerative Colitis.  Several swimmers in the summer league are affected by these diseases.

However, PLEASE NOTE, the Y is closing early on Friday to have an all staff meeting at 5:30pm. Therefore, we will alter practice for some groups for this Friday only to accommodate as follows:

Age Group Elite will take place from 7:30-9am

Junior 1 & 2 will take place @ 4:00 – 4:45

Beginner will take place @ 4:45-5:30

Older swimmers will swim their laps during their normal morning practices.

Flat donations or donations per lap can be collected.  Please see the ATTACHED Donation Form embedded in the EVENT Tab to help with your collections.  Swimmers should then hand in their donations in the form of a check(s) written out to Tri-County Summer Swim League.  We will collect all donated checks during the Swim-a-thon event and up through the end of this month.  The League will then combine all checks and submit one payment to A Mother's Wish Foundation.

Be ready to Cheer at our first dual meet this Thursday! Please leave plenty of time for driving to Upper Perk YMCA.  1399 Quakertown Road Pennsburg, PA 18073

Please have your swimmer report to a coach upon arrival by 5:00pm.  All volunteers should report to the Baker Park Volunteer Coordinator holding a bright green sign too.
