Summer Solstice This Weekend

SWAT has 83 swimmers entered in the Summer Solstice Meet this weekend. We’re seated well going into the meet, take advantage of the home pool and get excited about the competition.  There is only one more chance to qualify for the IES Champs.

It’s going to be hot this weekend, Be Prepared! We will have team tents set up on deck for the swimmers. Make sure everyone has a lot of water, snacks and sunscreen.

Warm-up Times:

·         Friday

o    Session 1- 13 & Over @ 7:45am

o    Session 2- All Ages @ 12:45pm

·         Saturday

o    Session 3- 12 & Under @ 7am

o    Session 4- 13 & Over @ 11:45am

·         Sunday

o    Session 5- 12 & Under @ 7am

o    Session 6- 13 & Over @ 11:45am

No Practice Friday and Saturday

The Summer Solstice Meet is this weekend. All Practices Canceled this Friday and Saturday (June 22-23).

There is no practice this Friday (AM and PM) and Saturday for all training groups due to the Summer Solstice Meet this weekend.


Long Course Training off to a Great Start!

Long Course practices at Witter Started Monday and swimmers have already adjusted well to the difference in training. Practice attendance has been very good so far and it’s great to see swimmers from both sites working together and training hard.  Consistency is Key; especially when you get tired. Give your body time to adjust to the extra workload. It may get harder before it gets easier.

Swimmers, with an increase in training time, volume and intensity, special attention needs to be paid to your diet. Remember to snack at least 15 minutes before practice (or a small meal 45-60 minutes before practice), bring your water bottles and stay hydrated during practice and to have a snack within the first 15 minutes after practice and a healthy breakfast within 30-45 minutes after practice. A healthy and well timed diet before and after training will help your recovery efforts in between training sessions.

Parents, we ask that you stay in the spectator area at the gate entrance on the north-west side of the pool. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance in making this a healthy training environment for our athletes and a healthy work environment for our coaching staff.

Also, please remind the swimmers to pick up all their training equipment after practice. If training equipment is left on deck we may never see it again.
