GREENVILLE MEET RECAP
Thank you to all the parents who volunteered last night. Without your help there would be no meet. While there was some confusion about the posted lineup initially, the new coaches were able to quickly make and communicate the necessary adjustments and everyone did a great job adapting. That’s what these first two practice meets are about – making improvements to our process and learning on the job so that we can run effective meets going forward.
VIP PARKING RAFFLE
As a fund raiser for our team, Michelle Pena is offering raffle tickets for 3 front row VIP parking spaces at each home meet, starting with our River Road meet tomorrow. The tickets are 3 for $5 or 8 for $10. She will be selling them at practices and they will be available for purchase from the guard stand throughout the day. The 3 winning tickets will be announced after Thursday morning’s practices and Michelle will inform the winners. For questions, Michelle’s email is Mignshel@comcast.net. My apologies for the short notice, there will be additional chances for the 7/2 and 7/12 home meets.
HOME MEET TOMORROW JUNE 21
We have a home meet against River Road on Thursday June 21 (3:45 is the arrival time due to pictures). Meet details including the picture ordering website and form can be found on the event page on our website. Online RSVP Registration has been extended to midnight tonight, Wednesday June 20.
There are important Volunteer Jobs that need to be filled – without them, we cannot start the meet. We need a head timer – it’s easy – you collect and write down the times given to you from each lane, then you give the paper to the runner. We need another stroke & turn judge and 2 place judges. We have no one signed up to direct parking or grill, and only one person working the concession stand. We only have 56% of the jobs filled. Please sign up and encourage others to volunteer as well.
PASTA LUNCHES START NEXT WEEK (6/26 AND 6/28)
The kids love pasta lunch – so much so that I know of at least one kid on the team who is participating this year so they can be part of the pasta lunches. Molly Hayes is the parent who coordinates the pasta lunches and she has set up a "signup genius" page. You can contact Molly with any questions through that page using the little envelope icon in the upper right corner. Here is the link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b4eacad2fa4ff2-pasta2
A "spirit wear" order is in the works and will be communicated to you shortly when finalized. A parent volunteer will have some details at tomorrow's meet if you are interested.
