San Antonio Fever!

Texas Terrapins swimmers have been having a blast at the George Block Invitational meet in San Antonio.  Team spirit is at an all-time high! Many swimmers - every swimmer is near or better than their best, or have made finals and scored points for the team.  Swimmers have had a chance to watch some of the best swimmers in the world prepare for Nationals in August.  Not only are they meeting former gold medalists, but they get to race them as well.

The swimmers have been getting up at 6:00 AM and getting to bed at 10:30 PM. with not much rest in between prelims and finals. It’s been an all-day affair for 3 days!

  • Madison Kinsey isleading the way scoring in 3 events, 4 best times, and had an exciting victory in the 100 fly consolation heat.
  • Jackson Dement raced the college boys hitting 100% best times and placing in 200 fly, 400 free and IM.
  • Jonathan Ware has been awesome with 100% best times and made finals in the 400 IM
  • Jimmy Gavin another 100% best timer picked up his first Sectional cut
  • Erin Ware has been super placing in both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes, and a best in the 100 free
  • Emma Kinsey just missed the finals twice with 100% best times and awesome swims in the 200 back, 200 Fly, 100 fly, and 400 IM
  • Edgar  Fernandez is up to 100% best with great swims in the 200 & 400 free
  • Colin Wegner dropped a whopping 4 seconds in the 100 breast, and posted a great time in the 400 free
  • Bekah Lindblade sped to best times in the 100 free, breast and 400 IM dropping 6 seconds, and has eaten a whole watermelon
  • Hannah Zwerneman is right at her best in all events, with great swims in the 100 fly, 100 and 400 free with strong dolphin kicks off every wall
  • Camillia Samson has had another great meet with best times in the 100 breast, fly, and 400 free
  • Breanna Nguyen got off to a super start with a 3 second drop in the 200 back, and was great in the 100 fly
  • Canyon Nuendorfer has tough swims in the 100 free, 200 back and 200 free, and is the go to guy for all left overs!

Sunday is our last day with most the team in the 200 IM.
