The second Long Course Meet at ECC this month proved to be another great opportunity for the Titans to test themselves in the pool. We had 60 Swimmers at the three day meet. We saw numerous new best times, first time swims, more NI Championship cut times achieved and even a new team relay record!
Level 2 had 9 swimmers participate this past weekend in the meet and they came with their A-game! Swimming up to 4 events per day and challenging themselves to new ones, I was impressed. We only had a few DQ's in some newer events. Throughout the summer we will continue to work on those details as well as building confidence for our meets. Keep up the good work!
Level 4 sent 10 swimmers to the meet pulling together 38 new best times, 7 NI Championship cuts, 6 new events swam ranging from 50 Fly to 400 Free, with great relay participation, and only 1 DQ. Great job to all who were there.
Level 3 came to the meet with 4 swimmers that did a great job competing this weekend. We wrapped up the meet with 6 best times throughout and only one DQ. At practice we are working hard to focus on our technique while also building up our endurance to try out some new events in the future. Nice job level 3!
Level 5 had a fantastic meet this past weekend at ECC! We are very happy to see our swimmers continuing to try new events and longer distances! Since our last meet a few weeks ago, we have been focusing a lot on our underwaters, starts, turns, and finishes. We have been working very hard and have had some challenging workouts, but we were still able to capture a number of best times and Niagara Championship cuts! As we continue throughout the long course season we are looking forward to seeing our hard work pay off! Great job to our level 5 swimmers!
Level 6 sent 9 Titans to the meet and they did an amazing job! We saw 27 NI Champ cuts, 29 new personal bests and 4 more new events by this amazing group. We are seeing the swimmers takle 200’s of stroke, 400 IM’s and 800 freestyle events with confidance and are performing phenomenally. Great job to all!
Level 7-8 had a very strong meet middle cycle, without rest and amassed nearly 60 personal best times. Jessica Napier qualified for Champs in the 50 free for the first time and 13-14 girls broke the team 200 medley relay record by .02. (Marcyan, Flash, Levy, Gioia) We had big drops in distance swims with Natalie Hesch and Veronica Bargnesi both dropping nearly 40 seconds in the 800 free.
