Ontario Provincial AA - Day 3 Recap

Day 3

First up, womens 100 Fr 15 and 17 over finals with Abby Marshall and Mackenzie Faulkner ready to battle once again for the top spot. Abby managed to come close to her prelim time but struggled to finish after a long weekend coming just short of the medals. Mackenzie followed close behind making improvements from her morning swim to to take another .45s off her best time of 1:04.87.

Next, mens 100 Fr 15 and 16 year old category included Jack Serre and Andrew Johnson. Jack, having broken 1:00 during prelims, managed to swim 28.3 to the flip on his first 50 and did his best to bring it home just shy of his new personal best of 59.47.

Andrew Johnson swam just tenths off his personal best and was ranked 2nd overall heading into finals. His final swim ended in silver with a new personal best of 55.89 and earning him another Eastern time adding to his 50 Fr time.

Womens 100 Br saw 4 Trojan swimmers make the cut with Maddie Russell, Hannah Koopmans, Abby Marshall, and Reighan Teggart. Hannah swam an exciting race to earn her first Provincial A standard with a time of 1:21.39, and 4th overall. Abby Marshall continued her podium streak with a solid bronze medal and a new personal best of 1:21.01.

Our highlight of the night goes to the womens 4x200 Fr 15 and over relay that included Abby Marshall, Reighan Teggart, Hannah Koopmans and Mackenzie Faulkner who surged ahead in the last leg to collect the bronze medal for the team. Mackenzie's outstanding anchor split sealed the deal with a personal best time by over 7 seconds!

Tomorrow is our last day of competition and sure to be good one with Abby and Mackenzie stepping on the blocks one last time for another chance at a medal. Join us in wishing them good luck!
