And then there was one regular season meet remaining. Week 5 has officially had the closest meet of the season. Montclair swam up two divisions this week and just fell short of pulling the upset out. Old Bridge was able to hold Montclair off by only 20 points. We had three inter divisional meets this weekend, two of which were decided by 251 points or less. Dale City held out against Meadowbrook by 251 points and Piedmont was able to hold off Bridlewood with only a 184 point difference. With divisionals two weeks away, all of the divisions are showing a very balanced team strength. This in turn should provide a highly competitive divisional meet. Week six will not include any divisional match ups, so this will be a test and tune week for most teams to determine their strategy for the final meet of the season.
No Prince William Swim League records fell this week but again a lot of swimmers posted personal best. We had 39% of the swims this week improve a seed time. In numbers that equates to 9683 splashes across the county with a total of 4244 improved times.
All meets this season are being sent to Reachforthewall.org and being uploaded to the site. Please take the time to check it out. Several years are missing here and there but the database contains meets from about 2009. I will be working with them to add past meets to help fill the gaps. I would like to make this database as complete as possible for current swimmers, I will be working on this task in the off season.
Please see the updated summary sheet for an overview of all the meets. The Top 25 individual times and Top15 Relays of the week are also available. This week's cyber meet, league record file and the PDF version of the summary report are available to the computer reps on pwswim.com while interactive results are available at www.pwswimmeets.com
