Katrina Mortenson swims to USA Jr. Nationals QT @LAI

(Los Angeles, CA) Alpha Aquatics put on a great performance racing some of the fastest swimmers in planet during the 2018 Los Angeles Invitational held over the weekend at University of Southern California’s Uytengsu Aquatics Center.

Alpha Aquatics’ Katrina Mortenson led the way for the girls racing to her first US Winter Jr. Nationals QT in the 100Free, becoming the first Alpha female swimmer to achieve a USA Nationals standard.  Georgia Young was also outstanding with personal best times in every event, along with the 4x50m Women’s Free Relay where Team Alpha (Mortenson/Young/Mate/Chen) raced to a solid 12th place on Day 1.

For the Boys, freestyler Nolan Wang was also great for Alpha leading the 4x50Fr Relay (Wang/Young/Mortenson/Kittay) to a solid 3rd Place, along with a team record on the way to the Finals (200Fr).  Mitchie Mortenson was speedy in the 100Fly, and breastrokers Evan Yoo (200br) and Pavel Romanov (100Br) added to a superb weekend for Alpha also reaching the Finals and placing among the fastest of the meet.
