Harper Stevenson splashes into LCM Age Groups at Harvard

In an outstanding start to the 2018 LCM Age Group Championship Meet, Harper Stevenson has blasted through her previous times in the 200 meter butterfly, 100 meter breaststroke, 50 meter breaststoke, and the 400 meter IM. On Thursday, Harper started off prelims with the 200 meter butterfly where she dropped 2.65 seconds and qualified for finals in the evening. She then swam the 100 meter breaststroke and dropped 1.22 seconds tying for 16th place. In an amazing swim-off for finals, she out touched her competition by a hair and prepared to come back that evening in the 100 meter breaststroke as well. 

Thursday evening Harper prepared for finals where she would swim the 200 meter butterfly and 100 meter breaststroke again. Taking 7th place overall in the 200 meter butterfly, Harper dropped another 3.09 seconds during her finals swim giving her an overall best time by 5.74 seconds! A quick rest and she was up again for finals in the 100 meter breaststroke. Harper bested her prelims time by an amazing 3 seconds giving her an overall finish of 10th place. 

Rounding out day 2, Harper took on the 50 meter breaststroke and dropped 1.39 seconds. She then went on to swim the 400IM where she placed 7th and dropped 4.30 seconds off her previous best time. 

Harper will get some much deserved rest this afternoon and go on to swim the 200 meter breaststroke, 100 meter butterfly and 400 meter freestyle during the prelims session on Saturday morning.
